  • The Intercontinental 505 N Michigan Ave Chicago, IL, 60611 United States (map)

Chicago Council on Global Affairs
Women and Global Development Forum

The Middle East and North Africa remains a region deeply divided over the role of women in society. While women continue to play an active role in regional political uprisings, journalist Mona Eltahawy suggests that real change will not succeed unless accompanied by revolutions of social, sexual, and cultural thought. Does the region need a sexual revolution? Join The Chicago Council for a discussion with Mona Eltahawy on the changing role of women in the Middle East.

Mona Eltahawy is an international journalist who has contributed to various media outlets including The New York Times, Al-Jazeera, and The Guardian on women’s issues in the Muslim world.
